Why is growing your own food better for the environment?

No or little use of pesticides because these pesticides will trickle into the water system and will eventually kill organisms

For example: If you use non-organic pesticides in your garden the pesticide will be transfered via the water ways into lakes, rivers and eventually the sea. The pesticide will then kill organisms that live in the lakes, rivers, and sea.

The release of CO2 into the atmosphere will decrease which helps against global warming

Less garbage/waste because your food is not packed in packaging and the organic waste is used for compost

Plants absorb CO2 which helps against global warming

Because of global warming there is more rain and to make sure the water does not cause floods it is better to have soil instead of stone and cement garden/areas

You have to go to the store less so you do not need to take the car which will decrease the amount of COreleased
